There aren't nice, neat answers for why certain things happen to certain people. Often the perspective of a friend can help, but when there is nothing more to say, where do we turn?

Rob Bell takes a look at the book of Job for some answers.

Maybe it's when there is nothing more to say that God finally speaks.

Jesus lived with the awareness that God is doing something, right here, right now, and anybody can be a part of it. He encouraged his listeners to search, to question, to wrestle with the implications of what he was saying and doing. He inspired, challenged, provoked, comforted, and invited people to be open to God's work in this world. Wherever he went, whatever he did, Jesus started discussions about what matters most, because for Jesus, God is always inviting us to open our eyes and join in.

A lot of us have gone through times in our lives that are difficult. Some have been small and hard to understand and some have been big and overwhelming. During these times we want answers, don't we? We want to know why. Why do we have to suffer? Why do bad things happen to good people? We just want someone to make sense of it all. But we don't always get the answers, do we? Sometimes we are left wondering. And those can be some of the most difficult times. Maybe there are times we need to be realeased from having to have all the answers. And maybe it's when we're released that we are able to see there may be more going on here than we realise.
